Remembering the Hits of Alanis Morissette

One afternoon just about some time last week, I heard a very distinctive song while having a stroll in the mall. I asked my friend if she knows the title of that song. but she didn’t. I know it’s a song that I heard a lot of times before…
I just couldn’t remember.
I kept on thinking about that mysterious song until the following day.
I remembered Crystal Bowersox from American Idol singing it on her first performance as part of the final 24.
The rhythm is the same and so as the voice of the original singer. So I googled Crystal.
Hand in My Pocket by Alanis Morissette.
No. That wasn’t it.
But I really believed that was the song that I’m looking for. 😦

To my frustration, I forgot the tune of the song.

I tried and tried to recall until it felt like my head is splitting.

And presto! I suddenly remembered the chorus out of the blue.

So I searched the internet for some of the lines that I was able to remember.

The song’s not appearing on searches.

Some other songs kept on popping onΒ my screen. I know how search engines work. Just type a word or phrase and what you’re looking for will show up. But it just wouldn’t show!

If only I searched for the singer of Crystal’s song choice earlier, I could have found the song earlier.

It was indeed by Alanis Morissette. It’s called Ironic.

You can call me desperate because I actually listened to each of her songs until I found that hard-to-find song.

Why was I not able to search for the lyrics?

Because I didn’t hear the lines well and so I entered a different lyric.

So what’s with that song?

I don’t know. I just like it. πŸ™‚

And I like most of the songs in this album.

Jagged Little Pill is the third studio album by singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette.
The album is considered one of the most successful albums of all time.
(So that’s the reason why I heard her songs a lot of times when I was young.)

Each song says something about life and love. Of how sometimes you rise and then fall, and how you’ll learn to accept it.

For the long years that she’s been in the industry, I am a fan of hers now.
I haven’t heard of any other artist who can play the harmonica that fantastic. (except Crystal Bowersox, of course.) πŸ™‚
